Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic, responsible, value-oriented, self-effacing and productive intern to join our company. In this position, the applicant will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. The applicant is expected to carry out his/her duties diligently in other to bring about achievable goals for the growth of the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accounts receivable records, ensuring records are comprehensive and all payments are correctly applied.
- Establish and review key operational risk indicators/key control standards and formulate action plans to minimize Company’s exposure to fraud and losses.
- Manage Company’s finance operational risk exposure by supporting the Business to identify areas of operational risk exposure and by developing and implementing corrective action.
- Responsible for re-engineering business processes to improve customer service, cost effectiveness and controls.
- Ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements relating to Company’s Finance Operations.
- Ensure that effective documentation is in place, in the form of user guides and implement operational improvements to reduce operational costs, tighten controls to improve service quality and customer service.
- Responsible for Account Services, Clearings, Payments, Cash Management and Reconciliation
- Good knowledge of Management Accounting, financial planning, monitoring and performance management
- Manage all accounting operations including Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Support the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Prepare regulatory reports and monthly proof of accounts.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end, year-end close process, and audits (internal and audits).
- Ensure quality control of postings, financial transactions, documentation, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Provide additional administrative or other support as requested.
Minimum Required Qualification
- A good first degree from a reputable university preferably in Banking and Finance, Accounting or another related field.
- Minimum of 2 years post education experience
